Breaking the silence around “otherness” in relationships brings people together. Whether the differences exist within bi-racial or multi-racial relationships or between rural or urban, poverty or wealth, educated or non-educated. We invite you to join us in creating, deepening and sustaining healthy relationships.

The Blended Feast is based in the belief that relationships are essential.  A blended family is together because of love…giving them a place and a space to have a conversation about what each brings is important.

The next generation of young people who are multi-racial or part of the LGBT community need a platform to give voice to their experiences and hopes for a new world.  Relationships are important.  Without solid relationships it is hard to bump up against our individual “worldview” and see others as they are.

The Blended Feast allows all people to go deeper into the conversations that matter.  We create spaces that are safe enough for those conversations to take place.

its all about

“Some may look at us and say our family is a complex thing—we just consider ourselves a modern day blended family. My husband and I are an interracial couple, and this is the second marriage for both of us. We each come to the table with unique experiences and cultural norms, but we show up consistently and work together to create a household where each voice is heard and our kids can witness the victories of a healthy marriage.

I came into the marriage with two kids and my husband came with one. Has it been easy? No. We are blending different styles for parenting and how we want our kids to show up in society. But those areas for growth inside our home are easier for me to deal with than the judgement and treatment family, friends and others have shown our household. Those experiences sometimes lead to uncomfortable conversations that challenge our minds and perspectives but never our heart.

Through the love we have for God, our entire families and the greater community, we are able to experience the richness of an inclusive life—living in our blended feast.”
